Gopal Nilkanth Nandurkar was born on 12th June 1973 in Nashik. He completed his Graduation in Applied Art in 1993, from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay, Pune. Since then, he has been working as a freelance artist and illustrator. He has illustrated many children’s books, comic books, book covers, advertising illustrations and calendars. He has co-authored and illustrated four art instruction books published by Jyotsna Prakashan. 

Four of his pastel works have featured in the Best of Worldwide Pastel & Pencil Book Volume II, 2011, published by the Kennedy Publishing, USA. 

He has participated in many group shows. His paintings are in collection of many private and corporate collectors in India and abroad. Gopal mainly paints landscapes, portraiture, figurative works and narrative paintings. He also writes articles related to art and art appreciation.
